TechCastle first formed as an idea quite a few years ago, but only came to realization in 2007. It was initially conceptualized as a "snazzy name" for the services my wife and I provided to our non-technical coworkers for their home computers. After visits to some stores offering PC support services, and listening to bad advice and marvelling at the prices they were charging, we decided it would be a good idea to launch TechCastle formally. So what started as a small idea has now grown to be launched as a small business, headquartered in Valrico, Florida and serving the Greater Tampa Bay area.
Chris Ivey (that's me) is the Owner and Chief Technologist of TechCastle. I started working on computers as a personal hobby in 1989 while in middle school. By time I reached by undergraduate years, I was a lab assistant in the campus computer labs, as well as the "official" computer support person for my fraternity house. I took that experience and got into the I.T. field after college, working in Network Management - first for a telecommunications company, and currently for a major entertainment company.
Dawn Ivey (my wife) is the Co-Owner and Chief Executive of TechCastle. She started working on computers seriously in college as the student assistant to the Assistant Dean of the business school. She was strongly encouraged to pursue a career in I.T. by the people she worked with in the business school. After graduating, she went into the I.T. field, working as a PC Support Technician - first for a finance company, and currently for a home builder.
Daniel Legnini (my brother-in-law) is an occasional contributor for TechCastle, specializing in graphics and web design. He is a freelance graphics artist, mostly doing work for DJ's and clubs around the country. His artwork has been seen in XXL magazine, as well as on a CD cover that is available for purchase from Best Buy (among other stores).
